As an Act 196 Authority, the JATA provides a wide variety of transportation sevices to all citizens of Jackson County. Services include Fixed Route, Demand Response, and Contractual Services. JATA also acts as the Greyhound and Western Union Agent for Jackson with offices located within the JATA transfer Center. To learn more about JATA click on "About JATA".

JATA provides many special and packaged services including curb-to-curb transportation services for Jackson County residents to and from work, school, medical appointments, and shopping.

 Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964


Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in programs and activities receiving Federal financial assistance. Specifically, Title VI provides that "no person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." (42 U.S.C. Section 2000d).

The JATA Administration works to ensure nondiscriminatory transportation in support of our mission to enhance the social and economic quality of life for all Americans. The JATA Officer Oliver Lindsay is responsible for civil rights compliance and monitoring to ensure non-discriminatory provision of transit services.
